Kids love playing outdoors and why wouldn’t they? But it’s essential to make sure they are protected from harmful UV rays while they’re outside.
Did you know the Cancer Council states,
“Two out of three Aussie kids at school today will be diagnosed with skin cancer in later life – some of them with deadly melanomas.
Protecting children’s skin from exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is the simplest way to reduce the risk of skin cancer. And one of the easiest and most effective forms of sun protection there is for children is a sun safe hat.”

Made from breathable cotton and with a wide 6.5 cm brim ( Cancer Council recommends approx 5 – 6cm brim for kids hats), Young Squad’s bucket hat protects kids’ face, head, neck and ears while still looking super, ridiculously sweet!
What you need to know about our sun safe bucket hat
They come in sizes to suit 6 months up to 8 years. (See size chart below)
Both outer and inner fabric is 100% cotton which is breathable. The outer fabric features the iconic May Gibbs Gum Nut babies on a dusty pink background. The inner fabric is mustard cotton.
The 6.5cm brim is reinforced with medium weight interfacing to make it flexible but won’t collapse over your child’s eyes.
The hat has a deep crown section (the body of the hat) which sits low on the child’s head and protects their face, head, neck and ears. (recommended by the Cancer Council of Australia)
Pattern placement will vary between hats.

XS (6-12 months) approx 46cm or 18″
S (1-2 yrs) approx 48cm or 19″
M (3-5 yrs) approx 51cm or 20″
L (6-8 yrs) approx 54cm or 21″
XL (adult) approx 58cm or 23″
